100 Nights Trial: What It Is, What It Isn't, and How It Works
Partilhar
You can't choose a mattress by lying on it for two minutes in a store. Your body takes two to three weeks to get used to a new surface, and the firmness that seems right after two minutes might feel wrong on the seventh night – or vice versa.
That's why we offer a 100-night in-home trial. This page explains exactly how it works: what it covers, what it doesn't cover, what you need to do, and within what timeframe. No small print.
What it is, in a nutshell
- Sleep on the mattress at home for up to 100 nights.
- If it's not the right fit, request a pickup. Pickup is free, and the amount is refunded.
- You don't need to justify your decision.
Why 100 and not 30
Thirty days are enough to tell if a mattress is obviously wrong. They are not enough to tell if it's the right one.
For the first few nights, a new mattress always feels firmer than it is – your body is comparing it to your old one, which already had a custom indentation. This comparison disappears after two or three weeks. It's from then on that the evaluation starts to be meaningful.
One hundred nights allow you to go through a change of season, a bad work week, a cold, and a weekend away. It's the time needed for the answer to stop depending on the day.
What the trial covers
The 100 nights apply to adult mattresses. This is the product where the decision depends on the body and time, and where a wrong choice costs more.
For other products – bed bases, headboards, pillows, protectors, and textiles – the legal right of return applies, provided the product is unused.
What the trial is not
I prefer to state this upfront, as it's where misunderstandings arise:
- It's not a rental. It's a purchase decision with time to be made. It's not for having a new mattress three months a year.
- It does not cover damage. Normal wear is expected – that's what it's for. Stains, burns, tears, or moisture are no longer normal wear. A mattress protector solves this for less than €40 and avoids the whole discussion.
- It does not apply to custom-made products. A mattress cut to a specific size cannot be returned to stock. This is a legal and our own limitation, and it's stated before ordering in custom-made.
- It is not the warranty. They are two different things. See below.
How to request a pickup
- Contact us within 100 nights, by phone (21 150 95 04) or via the contact form. Just say you want to return.
- We arrange the pickup at the delivery address. You don't have to pack the mattress or take it anywhere.
- The refund is processed through the same payment method you used for the purchase.
Before that, I always suggest a conversation. In most cases, the problem isn't the mattress – it's the pillow, which is putting the neck at an angle, or an old base that no longer supports the mattress evenly. Ana Cristina can figure that out in ten minutes on the phone and avoid a return that wouldn't solve anything.
Trial and warranty are not the same thing
They are often confused, but they are separate things.
| 100-night trial | Warranty | |
|---|---|---|
| What it's for | Deciding if the mattress is right for you | Covering material or manufacturing defects |
| When to use it | Within the first 100 days | Throughout the declared useful life |
| Need a reason? | No | Yes – there must be a defect |
| Result | Pickup and refund | Repair or replacement |
Dreamura warranty periods:
- 10 years — adult mattresses
- 3 years — bed bases, headboards, cots, and textiles
- 2 years — pillows, protectors, and mattress toppers
There's also a short deadline worth knowing: if the product arrives with a visible defect – a stain, a tear, shipping damage – notify us within 48 hours of receipt, with photos. After that, it becomes difficult to distinguish a factory defect from usage damage.
What this costs us, and why we do it anyway
A returned mattress does not go back into stock. It's a real cost, and not a small one.
We do it because the alternative is worse. Selling a mattress to someone who will sleep poorly on it for ten years is not a sale – it's a lost customer with noise in between. We prefer to bear the cost of an occasional return than to have people sleeping poorly on our name. It's also why we manufacture in Portugal: when the factory is here, the cost of correcting an error is manageable.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many nights do I have to try the mattress?
100 nights from delivery, for adult mattresses.
Are there any costs for me for the return?
No. Within the 100 nights, pickup is free and the amount paid is refunded.
Do I have to justify why I am returning it?
No. Just tell us you want to return it, within the deadline.
Do I have to keep the original packaging?
No. Pickup is done at home, at the delivery address.
Do the 100 nights apply to pillows and bed bases?
No. They apply to adult mattresses. For other products, the legal right of return applies, provided the product is unused.
What is the difference between the 100 nights and the warranty?
The 100 nights are for deciding if the mattress is right, without needing a reason. The warranty covers material or manufacturing defects and lasts 10 years for adult mattresses.
What if I stain the mattress during the trial?
Stains and damage are not normal use and may prevent a return. A mattress protector prevents the problem.
