Renew the essentials for under 100€.
A simple and affordable way to prepare the bed for the new routine. The Kihon (基本, "the basics") combines protection for the mattress, two comfortable pillows and cotton bed linen — three essentials to change the bed without having to change the mattress.
Who it is for
- Those with a mattress in good condition who only want to renew what goes on top
- Halls of residence or rented flats, where the mattress is not yours
- Those setting up a first bedroom on a tight budget
- Those who want two new pillows without buying them individually
What it includes
Kanazawa Mattress Protector — a protector in 100% Tencel, soft, breathable and waterproof. It helps protect the mattress from perspiration and spills, while its high breathability contributes to a cooler feel during the night.
Pack of 2 Hinode Pillows — two memory foam pillows with shredded foam, of medium firmness, designed to offer a balance between comfort and support. They are machine washable, anti-mite and antibacterial.
Kanjiru White Sheets — a 100% cotton set, 300 thread count sateen, with fitted sheet, top sheet and pillowcase(s). Made in Portugal.

Frequently asked questions
Which of the four packs is right for me?
Start with the mattress that is already there. If it is good, Kihon is enough. If it is acceptable but firm or already tired, Shūchū improves it without replacing it. If it needs replacing, Hirune is the most affordable option and Manabi the one that lasts the most years.
Does this pack include a mattress?
No. Kihon and Shūchū work on the mattress you already have. Hirune and Manabi include a mattress.
Does it work for a rented room or a hall of residence?
Yes, and that is the most common case. Kihon does not require touching the mattress that came with the room, and it goes with you when you move.
Which sizes are available?
190x90 and 200x90 for single beds, 190x140 and 200x160 for double beds.
Why two pillows and not one?
Because in a student bed the second pillow is almost always the one used as a backrest for reading or studying. Buying the pair costs less than two bought individually.
What is the warranty?
3 years on the protector, the pillows and the sheets. The pillows also have 100 nights of home trial.
