Kanazawa (金沢) is the name of a Japanese city famous for its gardens and attention to detail. We drew on that idea to make our premium protector: Tencel — a natural fibre with a soft touch, high moisture absorption and high breathability.

It's the protector we recommend for our pricier mattresses (Hisui, Samurai, Shinobi). Tencel costs more than cotton, but it extends the mattress's life and improves the feel at bedtime.

Frequently asked questions

Kanazawa, Kirishima or Tsuwano — which to choose?
Kanazawa (Tencel) is the most premium — forest fibres, best absorption. Kirishima (cotton) is the balance — natural, breathable, fair price. Tsuwano (terry) is the cosiest — softens firmer mattresses.

Does it rustle like typical waterproof protectors?
No. Tencel is quiet, unlike plastics. It feels like sleeping on cotton, not plastic.

Does it fit a 30 cm mattress?
Yes — the elastics adjust to mattresses from 14 to 30 cm tall.
