The Venture Capital Program is an indirect investment initiative managed by
Banco Português de Fomento. It aims to promote investment in SMEs and Mid Caps,
primarily in the early stages (pre-seed, seed, start-up, later stage venture –
Series A, B and C, or scale-up), by subscribing to venture capital funds for
investment in companies managed by financial intermediaries.
The goal is to facilitate market entry and the growth or expansion of viable
companies through the development of new products/services or markets, or by
strengthening and professionalising the workforce, including the management team,
of the final beneficiaries.
