Made in Portugal: how a Dreamura mattress is born
All Dreamura mattresses are made in Portugal. It's not a slogan — it's a decision based on logistics, cost, and control. I'll explain the reasoning behind it.
Why we manufacture here
I worked in furniture retail for years and saw what happens when production is thousands of kilometers away: long lead times, little room to correct defects, and a product that no one from the brand ever gets to see being made.
We prefer the opposite. Our factory is located in Portugal. When something goes wrong with a seam or a layer, it's resolved the same day, in the same workshop.
What happens in the factory
A mattress passes through several hands before it leaves. The pocket springs are assembled and aligned. The layers of high-resilience foam and viscoelastic foam are cut to size. The fabric is quilted on a sewing machine and then stitched all around, by the hands of those who have been doing this for years.
There are 11 mattresses in the range, each with a different construction. The Takumi features springs, viscoelastic foam, and high-resilience foam. The Mizu foregoes viscoelastic foam for a firmer feel. The factory is the same; the recipe changes.
