Why 450 g/m²
Weight is what separates a towel that dries you from a towel that spreads the water around. Below 400 g/m² the towel is thin and dries fast on the line, but absorbs little. Above 600 g/m² it absorbs a lot, but becomes heavy and slow to dry — a real problem in bathrooms without a window. At 450 g/m² the towel absorbs well and still dries between baths.

Frequently asked questions
Which of the four lines is best?
None. They share composition, weight and manufacture — the difference is the palette. Kaze covers the neutrals, Nami the bright colours, Kai and Kasumi the soft tones. Choose by the bathroom you have.
The new towel does not absorb. Is it faulty?
No. New towels carry a factory finish that reduces absorption in the first uses. Wash before first use and absorption settles after two or three washes.
Can I use fabric softener?
We do not recommend it. Softener leaves a residue that coats the fibre and reduces precisely the ability to absorb water. If the towels become rough, half a cup of white vinegar in the wash resolves it without waterproofing them.
How many towels do I need per person?
The practical rule is two sets per person — one in use, one in the wash. That way you never dry off with a towel that is still damp, which is where odours start.
When to replace them?
When they stop drying, keep a persistent smell even after washing, or the fabric starts to shed thread. With normal use and washing without softener, a 450 g/m² set lasts several years.
Do they shrink?
Slight shrinkage in the first wash is normal, as with any cotton. Wash up to 60 °C and avoid tumble drying at high temperature.
