What changes: the same level of construction costs less for the end customer because there are fewer intermediaries between the factory and the bedroom.
What doesn't change: the cost of materials. Pocket springs, high-resilience foams, and fabrics have the same market prices for everyone. If a direct-sale mattress is much cheaper than another with the same specifications, the difference didn't come from the sales model — it came from inside the mattress.

Who sells direct in Portugal

The five points that truly matter
- Range breadth. With one model, you choose the least wrong. With ten, you choose the right one for your sleeping position and weight. Ask how many different mattresses the brand manufactures, not how many sizes.
- Delivery time. Varies greatly between direct-sales brands — from hours to a week. If you need your bed to be functional tomorrow, this is the deciding criterion.
- Who answers the phone. Without a store in between, the brand's support is the only support available. It's worth testing before buying: call and see who answers.
- What's beyond the mattress. A new mattress on a fifteen-year-old bed base performs less than it should. If the brand only makes mattresses, the base and headboard will have to come from somewhere else, with a different lead time and warranty.
- The terms of the trial, in writing. One hundred nights with free collection and one hundred nights with returns at your expense are not the same promise. Look for the page that explains it; if it doesn't exist, ask before buying.

Where to start
