Why a protector is not optional
It is the cheapest piece on the bed and the one that protects the most expensive. A mattress cannot be washed — and a person sweats every night, over the ten-year life of a mattress.

If the mattress is good, the right protector is the one you do not notice.
A mattress chosen for the comfort it offers does not need a protector that adds layers. It needs one that protects and disappears — thin, silent, and washable at a high temperature.
If the mattress is new, fit the protector before the first night. Once it is stained, there is no going back.

Does it make noise when I turn over?
No. It is silent, and that is the feature that sets it apart most — a protector that crackles wakes up the person sleeping next to you.
What mattress depths does it fit?
From 14 to 30 cm. It covers the whole Dreamura range, including the Samurai mattress, which is 30 cm.
What temperature can it be washed at?
Between 40 and 60°C. It is the only one of the three protectors that takes 60°C, the temperature bedding is washed at for hygiene reasons — which matters for anyone with allergies or on a child's bed.
What is the difference from the Tsuwano and the Kanazawa?
The fabric. The Kirishima is thin, discreet cotton, and protects without changing the feel of the mattress. The Tsuwano is terry and adds softness. The Kanazawa is Tencel, the most breathable of the three.
Does it trap heat?
No. It is waterproof underneath and breathable on top: the membrane blocks liquids without blocking body vapour.
How often should it be washed?
As often as your bedding. A protector that is never washed does not protect — it accumulates.
