Yes. Check that the mattress size matches the cot exactly, with no gap between the mattress and the edges — a universal safety recommendation for infant sleep.
How does it compare to the Suzu?
Suzu is 11 cm (thicker) and slightly more expensive. Kotone is 8 cm and more affordable. For use from birth, both work; the Suzu stays comfortable for longer.
Does it need a protector?
We always recommend one. Babies spill, are sick, overflow — a waterproof protector extends the mattress's life and keeps it hygienic.
