Fukai and Shitaku are the two levels that apply to a bed that already exists. Fukai changes what's felt — topper, pillow, protector. Shitaku changes what's touched — sheets, cover, duvet.

Frequently asked questions
Does a topper replace a new mattress? No. It changes the surface, not the support. If the mattress has sagged in the middle or the springs can already be felt, the problem is structural and a topper only masks it.
Does the topper slide? The Nemuke sits on the mattress and is held in place by the fitted sheet. The Kanazawa protector goes over the topper, not under it.
In what order do the layers go? Mattress, topper, protector, fitted sheet. The waterproof protector protects the most expensive layer beneath it — which is why it always goes above the topper.
Does it fit any mattress? Yes, as long as the size matches. Fukai is sold in the double size.

A topper softens. It does not bring a mattress back to life.
If the mattress is too firm but still even, the Nemuke solves it. If there is already a visible dip where the body rests, or you are waking up with pain you did not have before, the problem is the core — and a layer on top just delays the decision.
