What 300 g/m² means, and why that number decides
The weight is the amount of filling per square metre. It is not the weight of the whole duvet, nor does it relate to how thick it looks — it is how much fibre there is per area, and that is what determines how much heat it holds.
200 to 250 g/m² — summer and warm mid-season.
300 g/m² — mid-season, or winter in a home with the heating on. This is this one.
350 to 400 g/m² — full winter, homes without continuous heating.
A duvet that is too warm is just as bad as one that is too cold: you throw it off in the middle of the night, and throwing it off wakes you up.

300 g/m² is mid-season. 350 g/m² is full winter. Anyone who sleeps with the heating on and picks 350 ends up throwing the duvet off in the middle of the night — and waking up.

What is the weight of this duvet?
300 g/m² in siliconised fibre. It is medium weight: it works for mid-season, and winter in homes with the heating on.
300 or 350 g/m² — which to choose?
It depends on the home, not the season. With continuous heating, 300 g/m² is enough all year round. Without heating, or in a north-facing room, the 350 g/m² Yume makes more sense. A duvet that is too warm makes you throw it off in the middle of the night.
Does it come with a cover?
No. It is sold without a cover, and the sizes match the commercial cover sizes in Portugal. The Pākēru, Saten and Norudikku covers each come in five colours.
What is siliconised fibre?
Fibre whose filaments are coated, which makes them slide instead of tangling. That is what keeps the volume after repeated washes, instead of the filling clumping together.
What are the stitched squares for?
They divide the filling into compartments, so it does not migrate or build up on one side. That is what prevents cold spots — in a duvet without compartments the fibre shifts with use.
Can it go in the washing machine?
Yes, at 30°C, with drying at a low temperature. With a cover, the duvet only needs washing a few times a year.
How long does it last?
5 to 7 years in normal domestic use, keeping its thermal properties, as long as it is washed correctly.
