Pākēru (パーケル) is the Japanese reading of "percale".

Percale or sateen?
These are two different weaves, not two different quality levels.
- Percale — the weft crosses the warp thread by thread. Matte surface, dry and cool touch.
- Sateen — the weft passes over several warp threads. Smoother surface, with a subtle sheen and glide. Retains a little more heat.
Thread count is only comparable within the same weave: 200 threads in percale and 300 in sateen are equivalent densities within the range. More threads isn't better — it's a different fabric.

Frequently asked questions
Percale or sateen?
If you run warm at night, percale. If you prefer a smoother sheet with sheen, sateen. Neither is better — it depends on what suits each person.
Does a higher thread count mean a better sheet?
No. Thread count is only comparable within the same weave. Above certain values, a high number is usually achieved by counting twisted threads, and does not translate into a better fabric.
What size should I choose?
By the width of the bed, not the mattress: 90, 140/160 or 180 cm. If unsure between two sizes, choose the larger one.
What comes in the set?
Fitted sheet, flat sheet and pillowcase(s), depending on the size chosen. The duvet and duvet cover are sold separately.
How many sets do I need per bed?
Two are enough for most households — one on the bed, one in the wash. Three if you change your sheets every week and don't want to rely on drying time.
Can I buy just the fitted sheet?
Yes. The Kihon Adjustable Fitted Sheet is sold separately, at €29, but in 50% cotton and 50% polyester — not in percale.
When should a sheet set be replaced?
As long as the fabric doesn't thin out or lose its touch. Good cotton lasts for years and softens with washing; the Dreamura warranty is 3 years.
