Who it is for
Percale or sateen: the choice you feel on your skin
The Pākēru and Saten sheets are both 100% cotton. What changes is the weave — and that is what you notice, more than the thread count.
Percale — the threads cross one by one, like a grid. It gives a matte fabric, dry and cool to the touch, that breathes well. It is the usual finish for hotel bedding, and the choice for anyone who runs warm at night.
Sateen — the threads pass over several others before crossing. A smoother surface, soft to the touch with a gentle sheen, that holds a little more warmth.
These sheets are 200 thread count percale, with an open-stitch detail on the finish.

Before you decide
Measure your mattress's height, not the bed's width.
It is the most common mistake with this purchase. The fitted sheet holds on by height, and a 160 cm bed can have a mattress that is 20 cm or 30 cm tall. A sheet that is too shallow comes loose during the night.
If you are not sure of your mattress's height, Ana Cristina can confirm the right size over the phone.
Frequently asked questions
Before you order.
What is included in this set?
Fitted sheet, flat sheet and one or two pillowcases, depending on the size.
What is the difference between percale and sateen?
The weave. In percale the threads cross one by one, giving a matte fabric, dry and cool, that breathes well. In sateen the threads pass over several others before crossing, giving a smooth, soft surface with a gentle sheen that holds a little more warmth.
What sizes are available?
Three: beds of 90, 140/160 and 180 cm. Pākēru and Saten are the only two lines that go up to the 180 size.
Does it fit a tall mattress?
What matters is the mattress's height, not the bed's width. Measure the height and check the size it accepts before ordering — especially if your mattress is 26 cm or taller.
Is 200 thread count low?
No. Between 180 and 300 threads is the useful range for percale. Above 400 the number stops meaning much — the fibre and the weave matter more.
Does it match the duvet cover?
Yes. The Pākēru duvet cover comes in the same five colours.
Does it wrinkle a lot?
Percale wrinkles more than sateen — that is the trade-off for the dry touch. Taking it out while still damp and hanging it up solves most of it. If you really want minimal ironing, the Bakuri line is a blend and wrinkles less.
