Who it is for
Percale or sateen: the choice that makes the difference
Both covers are 100% cotton. What changes is the weave, and that is what you feel against the skin — more than the thread count.
Percale — the threads cross one by one, like a grid. It gives a matte fabric, dry and cool to the touch, that breathes well. It is the fabric for people who run warm at night, and the usual finish for hotel bedding.
Sateen — the threads pass over several before crossing. It gives a smoother surface, with a soft sheen and soft touch, that holds a little more warmth.
This cover is 200 thread count percale.

Before you decide
The cover does not include a duvet — and the sizes need to match.
A cover that is too big leaves the duvet shifting around inside and bunching up at one end; a cover that is too tight compresses the filling and takes away its warmth. Check the size of the duvet you have before choosing.
The Pākēru sheets come in the same five colours, if you want the whole bed to match.
Frequently asked questions
Before you order.
What is included in this set?
Duvet cover and one or two pillowcases, depending on the size. Does not include the duvet or the sheets.
What is the difference between percale and sateen?
The weave. In percale the threads cross one by one, giving a matte fabric, dry and cool to the touch, that breathes well. In sateen the threads pass over several before crossing, giving a smoother, softer surface, with a soft sheen, that holds a little more warmth.
Is 200 threads low?
No. Between 180 and 300 threads is the useful range for percale. Above 400 the number stops meaning much — finer threads are being counted, and the fabric does not get proportionally better. Fibre and weave come first.
What sizes are available?
Three: beds of 90, 140/160 and 180 cm.
Does it match the sheets?
Yes. The Pākēru sheets come in the same five colours.
Does it wrinkle a lot?
Percale wrinkles more than sateen — it is the trade-off for the dry touch. Taking the bedding out while still damp and hanging it up solves most of it.
What is the warranty?
3 years, which is the warranty on Dreamura textiles.
