Safe sleep
The mattress should fit the crib with no gap between it and the bars — a two-finger gap is already too much. Safe sleep recommendations also include placing the baby on their back, on a firm, flat surface, with no pillows, padded bar bumpers or soft objects in the crib. Lower the base as soon as the baby can sit up unassisted. For questions about your specific case, talk to your pediatrician.

Frequently asked questions
Which safety standard does it meet?
European standard EN 716, which defines the safety requirements and test methods for domestic cribs — spacing between bars, side height, stability and strength. The finish is non-toxic.
Which mattress fits the Nekasu?
A 120x60 cm mattress. The Kotone (8 cm), the Suzu (11 cm) and the Mokuren (12 cm, pocket springs) all come in that size, with fabrics certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
What are the outer dimensions?
125x70x95 cm. Measure your room before ordering, especially the doorway width.
What's the adjustable base for?
In the early months it stays in the high position, so you can pick up the baby without bending your back. It lowers when the baby sits up, and lowers again when the baby stands.
Up to what age is it suitable?
From the early months until the transition to a bigger bed, usually between 2 and 3 years.
Does it come assembled?
No. It arrives unassembled, with instructions. Assembly is simple and done at home.
Is the finish safe if the baby bites the bars?
Yes. Non-toxic paints and varnishes, free of harmful substances — precisely because that's what happens when the baby starts to stand up.
