Naps: Do they help or hinder nighttime sleep?
Share
Naps divide opinions: some love them, others avoid them. But does a short daytime sleep hinder nighttime rest?
It all depends on the duration and time you take it. Short naps, lasting twenty to thirty minutes, can be very beneficial, providing energy, improving mood, and concentration. However, longer naps or those taken late in the afternoon can make it difficult to fall asleep at night.
For those with very demanding schedules or short nights, a nap can be a great ally, as long as it is taken in moderation.
Interestingly, studies show that countries where naps are part of the culture, such as Spain and Greece, tend to associate them with a more balanced lifestyle. In short, a short break can be invigorating, but nighttime sleep remains irreplaceable.
