Molaflex Mattress Alternative: Factual Comparison (2026)

If you're considering a Molaflex mattress, it makes sense to compare before deciding. Let me start by addressing one thing: both brands manufacture in Portugal. Molaflex for over 65 years, Dreamura today. So national manufacturing isn't what sets them apart — what sets them apart is how you buy, how you test, and how long you're covered. Here, I'll provide a factual comparison so you can decide calmly.

Origin and Manufacturing

Molaflex describes itself as 100% Portuguese manufacturing, with over 65 years in the market. Dreamura mattresses are also manufactured in Portugal, but sold directly, without going through an intermediary store. If national production is your criterion, you'll be well served by either. The difference lies in the chain: one reaches you through retail, the other reaches you directly from the factory.

Range and Choice

Dreamura has 11 mattresses in its range, from foam to pocket springs, in different firmness levels. Instead of choosing by model name, you choose by your sleeping position and your weight. If you sleep on your back with lower back pain, I suggest the Hisui or the Samurai; if you sleep on your side, the Sora; if you alternate positions or two people with different weights sleep together, the Takumi (匠, master craftsman), 26 cm, pocket springs with viscoelastic foam.

Home Trial and Warranty

This is where the biggest difference lies, and it's what I advise you to consider first. Dreamura offers a 100-night home trial, with free returns if you don't adapt. As of this comparison, Molaflex does not publish a home trial period on its website. For warranty, Molaflex states 3 years against manufacturing defects and abnormal deformations; Dreamura mattresses have 10 years. Always confirm the current terms of each brand before buying, as they can change.

This matters more than it seems. A mattress cannot be evaluated in five minutes lying in a store — the body takes 2 to 3 weeks to recalibrate. Without a trial period, that evaluation happens after the purchase is already finalized.

Where to buy and who assists you

Molaflex mattresses are mainly found in retail stores and specialty shops. With Dreamura, you buy online and receive the mattress at home, with free delivery in mainland Portugal. You also have a physical store in Algés to try it out, and a Sleep Advisor with a name and phone number to help you choose. You don't talk to a form — you talk to me.

"I won't tell you that one mattress is inherently better than another. Both brands make mattresses in Portugal. What matters is what suits your body — and how much time you have to find out without risk. Tell me how you sleep and I'll help you compare." — Ana Cristina, Sleep Advisor

How to Decide

Start with your sleeping position and the firmness you need — that's what determines comfort, more than the brand. Then ask if you can try it at home, and for how long.
